Personal Statement

Driven by a deep conviction that everyone deserves access to essential and enriching experiences, I’ve dedicated my career to creating meaningful change.

As a strategic thinker, certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scrum Master (CSM), I specialize in developing initiatives that foster inclusivity, confront systemic inequities, and drive positive transformation.

In my current role as Program Director at Words Alive, I have the privilege of leading literacy engagement programs that reach over 5,500 children, teens, and families in San Diego and the wider region. Working alongside an incredible team of over 1,000 volunteers and numerous community partners, we’ve witnessed remarkable growth, with our programs expanding by an impressive 133% since 2019. This journey has reinforced the power of collaboration and the importance of inclusive cultures.

I’m honored to have served as a Co-Producer for the International Shakespeare in Prisons Conference, where we’ve co-created the world’s largest professional development resource for arts in corrections practitioners. This work exemplifies my belief in the transformative potential of the arts and education.

My personal passion for mindfulness, underscored by training from Mindful Schools, informs my approach to enhancing communication and collaboration in the pursuit of social justice.

Join me in our shared mission to create a more inclusive, equitable, and compassionate world!
